Blizzard has released new patch updating Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne from v1.21 to v1.21b. It includes the same fixes as before (adds 2 new maps, tweaks to older maps and the usual exploit, bug and crash fixes) but also removes the cd-check so you play the game without the CD in your drive.

Changes: 1.) Exception error after blue Rockstar load screen fixed. 2.) Error loading saved games fixed. 3.) Mouse sensitivity now saved with other settings (no changes made to existing settings). 4.) Option for user to play audio files directly from hard disk. Copy the contents of the PLAY discs Audio directory into your installed Grand Theft Auto III Audio directory. Grand Theft Auto III still requires the presence of the PLAY disc when started. This may give better performance on some machines (though worse on others). 5.) All protection checks (apart from needing PLAY disc to start) removed. Grand Theft Auto III still checks for the presence of the PLAY disc when initially started, and plays audio from the PLAY disc if not found on the hard disk (see above).

This Overlord patch updates the game to version 1.2. It fixes a multiplayer desync issue and several singleplayer bugs among other things. View more information... VERSION 1.2 * Version number reported on Title Screen. * Invert Y-axis Mouse option added in Game Options menu. * 30FPS cap has been removed. The game can now run at higher frame rates if your video card supports it. * Refresh rate is set by default to the lowest available within the Configuration Tool. * Potential desync in Multiplayer resolved. This could occur in Co-op Survival / Versus matches when Tower Objects were collected.
