The Terrans have been at war with the Gammulan race for years. In an attempt to change the tide of war and take the battle to the enemy, Galactic Command, the Terran military body, launched an all out attack on the Gammulan homeworlds.

The events that take place in Angle Of Attack occur during the final days of the air campaign of the assault on LV-115 an important planet used by the Gammulans for military purposes and as a staging area for their assault on GALCOM forces.

The air campaign was already a losing battle that was to later prompt the decision by GALCOM to launch a planet killing assault by the GCV-Excalibur carrying the devastation R.A.N.D.O.M weapon during All Aspect Warfare game, you already know how that turned out.

Sierra Online has released a playable demo for Aces of the Galaxy, a game that offers swift space combat with you piloting a ship into the screen-and a near constant onslaught of attacking ships and other terrestrial hazards. Aces gives you different weapons you can use, such as guns and torpedoes. Also, you can snag power-up icons at various points to help you out during the game's 24 levels. Your progress also unlocks different ships you can use, each of which have varied capabilities.

The gameplay of Alien Arena was the big focus this release, and you'll see the difference immediately. Weapons now respawn in five seconds rather than twenty. This game is the followup to the critically acclaimed( http://www.linux.com/feature/119775 ) Alien Arena 2007, and features nearly all new game media, gameplay improvements, and a client that has been signifigantly upgraded for improved visual effects as well as major optimizations that greatly improve the fluidity and performance.

Alien Arena 2008 also offers a change to it's overall theme, moving towards a slightler darker, more serious tone, while still retaining a good bit of it's retro style, creating an interesting marriage between classic and modern sci-fi. This resulted in completely new player models, many new weapon models and textures, and seventeen, yes, seventeen new levels! The transformation is nothing short of remarkable.

There are major improvements in weapon effects, per-pixel lighting, texture resolution, and resource usage, as well as the addition of a cross platform server browser, FUSE. Weapons have been tweaked for better balance, and movement has been enhanced with the addition of dodging abilities. Alien Arena 2008 will run on Windows and Linux, and the OSX/Mac port will be released in one week.

-Instant Action-
The new Instant Action mode of America's Army allows you to quickly jump into the AA action without the need to complete training first. Now with Instant Action Recruit status you can play alongside veteran AA gamers and complete training at your convenience. Instant Action is available on any mission that is not restricted to Special Forces only players. You will need to complete Basic Combat Training in order to achieve honor levels higher than Honor 20, plus you'll gain the benefits of improving your skills as a soldier with each training level you complete! Your Honor will remain at 20 until you pass BCT, at which point you will receive all of the additional experience points you have accrued.

-AA Loader-
The new AA Loader checks your version of the game to ensure you are up to date with the most current release. It also provides easy links to other community tools and support information. The AA Loader requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or later be installed on your system.

-Flashbang-
The flashbang has been tuned a bit to make it more realistic. The effectiveness has been reduced when used outdoors. Also the blackout duration has been reduced.

-Weapon Reloading-
Weapons reload faster then before. Fixing jams and using the supported/unsupported function are also quicker now.
